Maloca

The malocas are large structures usually built in the middle
of the indigenous Tikuna settlements. They appear as simple
shelter, but are sacred temples with religious significance.

For the Tikunas, the malocas are a space for cultural
development, since it is in this place where celebrations,
rituals are practiced and stories about their gods and beliefs
are generally shared In addition, they are schools where
dissemination of knowledge through song, dance and music
                  is practiced.

Usually, it is a conical structure built of wood and palm, some
have two lateral openings that are related to time, since their
position works in the same way as a sundial and it is believed
that inside their beams have meanings in relation to their
                  knowledge and hierarchies.
